Operating under her newly-christened moniker Bacosa Family Law in Calabasas, our E1 member Jessica Liu is a seasoned attorney who dedicates herself to providing individualized attention to every one of her clients, most of whom are couples going through a divorce. Jessica helps them find amicable resolutions to those high stress, emotionally charged situations.
[ Jessica was introduced to Echelon through her friend Brad Kraines, another E1 member, during December 2022. ]
“I really enjoy meeting with my colleagues in the E1 group, as so many of them share the same work ethics and professional values that I do. Being an Echelon member is different from other business networking groups which are so heavily-focused on getting new business referrals. With Echelon, the personal and professional collaborations we get to experience with other like-minded Echelon members, from a variety of fields, helps make each of us an overall better person. In our gatherings, we talk about books, current events, and things like exploring how ChatGPT is going to affect all of our professions. In addition to fellow attorneys, my group also includes CPAs, outside CFOs and CEOs, real estate agents, and marketing people. And that’s what makes being an Echelon member special. We’re all coming from different professions, and that allows us to affect each other in how we approach things. Echelon membership provides me with a great resource of having other notable professionals to bounce new ideas off of!”
And what’s it like being one of the earliest female members to join E1? “I was a little hesitant at my first Echelon meeting since I was the only woman there—it was a little intimidating,” Jessica admits, laughing. “But once I met my fellow colleagues, I realized that everyone in Echelon treats everyone else in a very accepting manner. There’s always an ear for what I have to say…
I’ve been very happy as an Echelon member – it’s been really nice for me to have this form of social interaction which operates on such a highly personal level. Everyone treats each other as trustworthy, compassionate, and collaborative human beings.”
In her spare time, which is rare, Jessica loves to travel, spend time with her 7-year old child, and attend sporting events in which her two teenage children compete as athletes. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and Santa Clara University School of Law, and also attended a semester of classes at the renowned University of Oxford in England.
