Our E2 Member Jake Berman, MBA, is the Director of Advisor Services with FMB Wealth Management in Westlake Village. There, he builds comprehensive, outcome-driven solutions tailored towards his clients’ priorities and life objectives. By aligning client resources to specific expenses, Jake seeks to provide a more resilient, protective, and enjoyable wealth experience. At FMB, Jake works with a wide array of clients, typically those in their wealth building years who are looking to build their financial structures for future success, as well as many clients in their retirement phase looking to pass down their wealth to future generations. Jake’s clients also include numerous business owners and professional athletes.
Jake, who began working for FMB in 2017 as an intern while he was a senior in college, began his career managing and overseeing investment portfolios, specializing in portfolio design, implementation, and tax loss harvesting. After receiving his undergraduate degree from CSU Channel Islands the same year, Jake joined FMB full-time. Since then, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 2022, and has regularly increased his workload and responsibilities by becoming FMB’s lead portfolio manager and director of advisor services. He enjoys playing an integral role within the company, and has been working closely with more FMB clients, steadily building relationships there, as well.
“I think Echelon has been a really good resource for someone like me who’s in the early stage of my career,” Jake says. “So far, I’ve been able to begin building meaningful relationships with like-minded individuals who are at a similar point in their career path — this helps me not only on a personal level, but also allows me access to an eclectic network of professionals. You can learn a lot from people in different industries, so having a platform like Echelon by which to collaborate with a diverse group, you can get great insights from people you may not normally encounter day-to-day.
One of the things I really like about Echelon is that its focus is not just about passing business back and forth, but helping to support each of us in becoming better at what we do. I find Echelon to be incredibly valuable as I look to grow both personally and professionally.”
Jake recently became engaged to his fiancée, Nani, and the two are currently enjoying the journey of wedding planning. They will be married in March 2024.
