Matthew Martin is a leader of the cannabis tax practice and is a Director at Citrin Cooperman. He is based in the Woodland Hills, CA office and has over 17 years of professional tax and accounting experience. His specialties include tax planning and compliance, financial management, and technology. Over the past 8 years, Matthew has focused on consulting with clients in the cannabis industry, from seed to sale, assisting them with navigating the maze of regulations and taxes. He has advised on complicated business structures, including many large multi-state operators. Matthew has worked with cannabis companies to provide consulting and IRC Section 280E tax planning advice to ensure operational and tax efficiencies. Matthew has also worked with multiple regulatory bodies to assist with investigations, education and other consulting.
